Ma’am, after watching the video and listening to it after she drops the phone I can honestly tell you this. One she did the right thing, she stayed clam as possible and continued to face the animal. Second she is trying to get the animal to leave, if she just wanted to shoot it she would not have just stared yelling at it. You can hear this cougars low growl, the animal is irritated for some reason. Having a similar experience my self I can tell you things happen very fast and your adrenaline is at max. At 8 ft I am not going to fire a warning shot, it’s me or the cougar. Why you may ask, because this animal is very fast it could be on me in flash and at 8 ft I would have no time to react. It is very sad that this magnificent animal had to be killed, it is not what any true hunter wants. What is good to no is this young lady will have a chance at life. Who knows you may become a doctor that finds the cure for cancer.
