I was honored to have been able to personally meet Mrs. Lochrie in her home in Butte Montana. My Mother, Alice McLean, recognized Mrs. Lochrie as a very talented artist with a love of Indians and their culture. My Mother purchased several pieces from Mrs. Lochrie's collection which our family still own and treasure. Our family is conflicted about what we should do with these paintings because we feel they are important. We do not want them to be forgotten
I remember being amazed with the stories Mrs. Lochrie could tell about the person she painted. She had a room full of paintings we were able to look through in the studio. It was breathtaking to be in that room with the lady who could capture these portraits in art. Her painting in Dillon's post office is worth the trip.
